English 494 Thomas Wilk week 5 blog entry.

The physical dimensions of words themselves are not in any way perfect. Even in great quantities, words do not physically round up too much. Despite their physical size, words can move countries to civil war, overthrow governments, or move someone to tears. All these were dealt with in the newspaper, in its own relativities place of course, (though we never actually succeeded in overthrowing the government.) Death in the school, reactions to new policies, and new school administration were the most important subjects through the school newspaper. With proper skills, people can use their literacy skills to accomplish their own goals. Late in my senior year I tried to use my literacy to capture the school’s attention, to realize what was going on around them. I felt that people should understand how the world around them works, and should be aware of what they can do to change that surrounding. Overall, I think an important part of being literate is being a responsible and aware human being.

what makes effective writing

What make effective writing? There are so many answer to this one question. For some people, Mark Z. Danielewski would be the best choice to use. Danielewski uses a very differnt and difficult style of writing. Two of Danielewskis best books to use as examples would be OnlyRevolutions and House of Leaves.In Only Revolutions, Danielewski.....My essay is odviously on Mark Z. Danielewski,I admire his writing because it is unique in many ways. First off In his book Only Revolutions he writes the pages in a very strange way that confuses the reader, at least I was lost for a while, but then again im dumb as a door nob. Any ways each page is written with newspaper like a newspaper column, the writing changes from up right, like a normal book, to upside down and backwards.In House of Leaves the main character Johnny Truant is the narrative character, the story is told, as if he was the one telling it. Both books use diffrent languages. I'm not sure what languages, but what ever they are I cant speak them.

Something i have tought myself was art, i learned to sketch at a very young age, while being locked in my room, the only thing i could find entertaining was art, anime is my favoret type of art to create, no one helped me to draw or put on paper what was in my mind. Not even my art teacher could teach me what i tought myself. She could not tell me what to put on the paper or how to show my emotions clearer then i did on my own.The significants of this autodidact is in my future i intened to work in art, my future is still unclear, i dont know what i want out of life but art will be included. Many people dont find this significant but i find this skill very important in my life, i would have died of bordem with out doing so.
